So, I just read the SZ this morning and ...|
I don't think it's me - there are a lot of really crazy people in Dresden - we had over the last seven years five public decision to the topic: building a new bridge; a minimum of half of the population (of 490.000!) voted every time, results: pro - contra - pro - contra - pro.
Last year it was decided it would be build and someone added all the numbers and came of costs of 10 MILLION EURO before the first stone was set. The last vote is momentarily before an ombudsman so who-knows - perhaps we will get to 20 in the next decade or so.
But it gets better.
The bridge-thing is stupid, because of the time, money and so on, but I can understand that half of the people really believe that it wouldn't help anything in rush-hour and destroy a lot of pretty sights and the other half thought that it would make the tangle of streets in the center of the city a little less crazy in rush-hour.
So stupid, but understandable.
New topic of interest:
One of the arterial roads, is really narrow at a point (150m of less than two lines = traffic jam) the city want to make it a four line street, for this they need to cut down 47 old trees.
Yes, 350.000 will probably be called to vote for life/dead of 47 fucking trees. To end the wild protests of the greens, the city made a compromise - suggestion: the new trees they will plant shall not be 5 year old instead 15 or 20 (?), I think.
This was unacceptable, they found already 17.000 signatures for the vote *cries*.
DON'T WE ALL HAVE OTHER PROBLEMS!
Unbelievable. STUPID. DIPUTS.
I think my brain broke, just a little.
